The Archer 2-in-1 file makes chainsaw sharpening quick and simple. It sharpens the cutter tooth and lowers the depth gauge (raker) at the same time. That means fewer steps and a sharper chain in less time.
This file is sized for 3/8" standard (STD) pitch chain. It uses a 7/32" (5.5 mm) round file profile to match the cutter shape.
A standard sharpening job needs two tools: a round file for the cutting edge and a flat file for the depth gauge. The 2-in-1 file combines both. As you file the cutter, it also takes the depth gauge down by the right amount. This keeps the correct geometry every time.
The tool guides the file at the right angle as you work. To switch from left-hand cutters to right-hand cutters, just flip it over. This helps you get consistent results, even if you are new to hand filing.
This file is made for full-size 3/8" standard pitch chain, common on mid-size and larger petrol saws. It is not the same as 3/8" low profile (LP) chain, which needs a smaller file. Check the drive link stamp on your chain to confirm the pitch, and whether it is standard or LP, before you buy.
