Why Impact Rated Bits Matter

A standard driver bit can shatter under the sudden rotational force of an impact driver; an impact rated bit is made from tougher steel to absorb that shock. Using the correct bit type and size for your fastener also reduces came out, the point where the bit slips out of the screw head under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a standard bit and an impact rated bit?

Impact rated bits are made from tougher steel to absorb sudden rotational force; standard bits can crack or shatter under that same force.

Do I need special bits for an impact driver?

Yes, impact rated bits last significantly longer under repeated impact loads.

What bit types are most common for construction fixings?

Pozidriv and Torx (TX) are most common on modern construction screws, Phillips is more common on general hardware.

Do you stock bit holders and extension bars?

Yes, magnetic holders and extension bars to reach fixings in awkward positions.

Can impact driver bits be used in a standard drill?

Yes, though the reverse is not recommended.

Can you source a specific bit type not listed?

Yes, tell us what you need and we will try to source it for you.
