The Stabila Type 196-2 is a premium 183 cm (72") spirit level built for the most demanding site conditions. It is a step up from the standard box level, with a thicker, extra-strong profile and two built-in hand grips for a secure hold. Stabila's locked vial system keeps it accurate job after job.
The 196-2 has two finger-grip openings built into the profile. These ergonomic hand holds give you a firm, comfortable grip on a long level, which makes it easier and safer to carry and to position accurately, especially overhead or when working on your own.
Three vials, one horizontal and two vertical, let you take a reading whichever way up the level sits. High-transparency acrylic vials with fluorescent liquid are easy to read, even in poor light. Accuracy is ±0.5 mm/m in both normal and reverse positions.
An extra-strong, torsion-resistant aluminium profile with reinforcing ribs gives outstanding stability and rigidity over its 183 cm length. Removable, shock-absorbing end caps protect the profile against impact, and their anti-slip wall pads let you hold the level firmly against a wall with one hand without it slipping.
Stabila's installation technology bonds the vials to the profile for consistent, long-term accuracy. An electrostatic powder-coated finish resists dirt and wipes clean. At this 183 cm length the profile is coated rather than milled, in line with Stabila's longer levels.
