The SP245BD is Marshalltown's 24" x 5" blue steel pool trowel with a DuraSoft handle. Because both ends of the blade are fully rounded, it glides across the surface without digging in at the edges. As a result, it produces a clean, consistent finish across large pool surfaces and concrete slabs in fewer passes.

What Blue Steel Means

Blue steel is a high-carbon steel that has been heat treated and tempered. In particular, this process gives the blade its characteristic blue-grey colour and flexibility. Because of this, it responds well to the pressure changes needed during concrete finishing — firm enough for levelling, flexible enough for the final pass.

When to Use a Pool Trowel

Pool trowels are not only used for swimming pools. In addition, they are widely used for concrete flatwork, floor slabs, and any surface where a sharp-ended trowel would leave marks. The 24" blade in particular suits larger pours where covering ground quickly is important.
